DAUGHTER OF LATE DOSHIN SO, YUUKI SO.

Yuuki So is one of the very few women (especially Japanese women) to head up any martial arts organization. There are 1.5 million students practicing Shorinji Kempo world-wide in over 33 countries. The word "Shorin-ji" means Shaolin Temple in the Japanese language. All certificates, belts and promotions are controlled and issued from the small country town of Tadotsu, Japan (home of Shorinji Kempo's world headquarters on the island of Shikoku). Shorinji Kempo is the largest singularly controlled, martial arts organization in the world. It was founded in 1947 by Yuuki's father, Doshin So. When Doshin So passed away in May of 1980, Yuuki, wanting to carry on her father's vision for world peace, took over as the leader of this unique martial arts organization. She was 22 years-old at that time. Rising Stardom salutes Yuuki So for her continued dedication to the martial art of Shorinji Kempo and for carrying on her father's dreams of world peace.
